History of the Research Institute

The ACCP Research Institute, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is the research arm of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. The mission of the ACCP Research Institute is to advance pharmacotherapy through support and promotion of research, training, and educational programs.

Beginning in 1979, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy has grown from its 29 founders to nearly 10,000 members in 2008. ACCP, a nonprofit 501(c)(6) association, has grown with the development of the discipline of clinical pharmacy into a member driven organization, committed to excellence in practice, research, and education. ACCP's members practice in a variety of settings: ambulatory clinics, community pharmacies, hospitals, colleges of pharmacy and medicine, pharmaceutical industry, government facilities, managed care organizations.
