The CAP is a standing committee to the ACCP PBRN with the mission to represent the breadth and depth of PBRN members. In addition, the CAP will be utilized as a mechanism for readily available feedback regarding the feasibility and practicality of proposed research projects.

I am serving on the CAP because I am on the executive committee for the National Interdisciplinary Primary Care PBRN, currently undertaking an NIH-funded grant to study collaborative hypertension management. I am involved in the I3 collaborative, a PBRN of family medicine residency programs in the Southeast, focusing on chronic care and the patient centered medical home. I have also served as the clinical pharmacist for the Practice Partner Research Network (PPRNet), a PBRN using the Practice Partner medical record.

It is an exciting time to be serving in the ACCP PBRN and CAP. As an organization, we are at the point of launching a significant initiative where we will bring the well-known research strength of the ACCP membership to bear on the clinical pharmacy issues of our time. I am pleased to be a part of the formative work in shaping this new program. I will be adding to the diversity of the CAP by bringing pediatric and neonatal expertise to the discussion. I have also had experience in retail pharmacy and pharmacy benefit management in my career that will give me a broader perspective on research study proposals.
